Clients And Engagements
Keep entity metadata, period work, assignments, and source evidence connected.
Clients hold the firm-facing record for each company or entity.
Engagements represent period-based work for a client, such as monthly close support, reconciliation, review, or year-end preparation.
Client context
Client records can store:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Name and code | Identifies the client across firm views. |
| Entity type | Supports accounting and tax context. |
| Registration and tax IDs | Keeps review context close to source work. |
| Contact details | Tracks client-side owner or finance contact. |
| Financial year end | Anchors period-based review. |
Engagement context
Engagements link documents, worksheets, bank reconciliation, chat, assigned users, due dates, and status.
Use engagements when the same client has multiple active periods or workstreams.
Practical rule
Assign documents to the most specific known context. If client or engagement is unknown at upload time, use the Data Room filters to find and assign those documents later.
